Recently, a picture of a strange fish has gone viral on major social media sites. The poster said the fish is called the "Algerian gorilla fish". It has an ape-like face and feeds on whales. But soon after, the lie was exposed.

Mike Holston is an animal expert and administrator of a wildlife foundation in Miami, Florida. He shared a "fake" photo on social media of a man holding up a large fish with an ape face that he said he caught on the Caribbean island of Trinidad.

Holston wrote: "This is an awesome photo of an Algerian gorilla fish. It's an adult male fish, generally they are 0.9 to 1.2 meters long, but this guy is coming this winter After eating baby whales, their size has completely expanded! They lay eggs on land, and during the mating season, they will turn bright red to attract females!
